In fourth grade, my elementary school teacher handed me a blank white bound book, said she’d noticed my knack for writing, and asked me to fill it with stories for her. My fascination with storytelling helped me excel beyond fourth grade - in my first job as a teenage telemarketer, through my journalism classes in college, and most notably as the CEO and founder of the bicoastal impact PR agency, Elle Communications.
Since 2008, I’ve told the stories of leaders solving problems across an array of social issues, heroes at the frontline of the climate crisis celebrities using their voices to fight for justice, and pioneers of ethical and sustainable businesses. I’ve had the opportunity to ghost write for them across media outlets like TIME, The New York Times, Fast Company, Vogue and many others.
In 2018, I became a mom and my love for children’s books was rekindled. In a sometimes overwhelmingly noisy and distracting world, books are a gateway to my family’s peak presence and our calmest, cuddliest moments.
So, I’ve created this tiny little corner of the internet to apply the things I know about marketing to sharing the stories my boys and I love best. I’ve also written a few kids’ stories of my own that I look forward to sharing once they’re published on hard bound books. And if anyone knows how to reach Mrs. McNeil from my fourth grade classroom at Cowan Elementary in Sacramento, I’d love to track her down and let her know that, just a few decades later, I finally finished that assignment.
